Apple New iPad (iPad 3) Review

Apple New iPad (iPad 3) Review

In 2012 apple release the third generation of iPad. We thought this brand new iPad would be called iPad 3, but apple decide to give it’s name the new iPad. And today we’re going to review this brand new iPad and see what’s the difference between iPad 2.

The Design

From the design (appearance) there is no big difference between this new iPad with the iPad 2. If you look closer you will notice that the dimension and the thickness between the two is a little different. But other than that everything else is still the same, all the button (power, volume, wireless, etc) from the previous iPad are still there.

The Screen

The main different of the new iPad over the iPad 2 is the screen. The new iPad is using retina display just like iPhone 4. It is easy to make the retina display on a 3.7 inch phone, but not for 10 inch tablet. Thats why the new iPad have bigger resolution 1536 x 2048 pixels compare to the iPad 2 which have 768 x 1024 pixels. The screen is definitely a great improvement

The Hardware

The new iPad is using dual core processor ARM Cortex A9 with clock speed 1 Ghz, the same speed as iPad 2. But now the new iPad have powerful graphics inside it. The people at apple decided to use the PowerVR SGX543MP4 for the GPU of the new iPad instead Nvidia Tegra 3. Apple claim that the PowerVR SGX543MP4 is better than Nvidia Tegra 3. PowerVR SGX543MP4 is a quad core GPU. The performance of this quad core graphics is amazing, but makes the temperature of the new iPad very high.

The Camera

With the new iPad now you can record full HD video 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) using the backpanel camera. This is something that iPad 2 can’t handle. This back camera also support autofocus, touch focus, geo-tagging, and face detection features. While the front camera have VGA resolution, you can use it for video call, video chat, skype, etc.
