Great review! I have the same tablet and I love it. Everything is great, but I can’t get sound working through HDMI – video works fine, but no sound. Any ideas?

    • admin says:

what kind of video format you’re playing?
sometimes you need to turn up volume on the tv
some video can play but no sound, probably just need the right codec

Thanks for the reply! I’ve tried with avi (divx), mkv (h264), and Angry Birds, all with the same results. I can actually get the audio working if I hook it directly into my TV, but not through my A/V receiver, which is what I use to hook up all my other home theatre devices – so it’s not exactly ideal to go directly to my TV.

        • admin says:

so you’re using av receiver with hdmi input right?
maybe you should do some setup on the av receiver to get the sound working…or maybe problem with the hdmi cable…

          • Mike says:

The receiver can play all my other devices without issue, and the cable works if I plug the tablet directly into the TV. Unless it’s the combination of that particular cable with that particular receiver, (which seems very unlikely) it must be an issue with the tablet or software… I’ve tried different settings on my receiver and I can’t seem to get it to work. Is there anything I can try with the tablet? I’m using a rooted ICS that I installed back in the spring, so I don’t know if there’s a new firmware version out or not.
