Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7270 Review

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 review

Samsung recently released another budget friendly smartphone, the galaxy ace 3. Galaxy ace 3 available in three different models the standard 3G single SIM, the 4G LTE, and the dual SIM 3G. In this article i’m going to review samsung galaxy ace 3 GT-S27270, the single SIM 3G version.

Samsung galaxy ace 3 maintain the design of the previous generation of galaxy ace, still with glossy plastic body and silver bezel around the edges. Only now, the dimension is little bit bigger than the predecessor, galaxy ace 2.

The design of samsung galaxy ace 3 is basically just like other android smartphones from samsung. You’ll see the physical home button, the capacitive button for menu and back. From the design perspective the ace 3 is just typical samsung’s android phone.

Samsung galaxy ace 3 comes with 4 inches display, WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels), pixel density 233 ppi. The screen quality is quite good for budget friendly smartphone, the viewing angle also good, not the best on it’s class but i think it’s good on the eye. I had no issue with the screen, so what else can i say…

Samsung galaxy ace 3 powered by 1Ghz dual core CPU cortex A9, broadcom video core IV as the GPU, and 1GB of RAM. That’s the hardware specs for the 3G version (both single or dual SIM), the specs for the LTE version are completely different.

Samsung galaxy ace 3 LTE (GT-S7275) comes with faster dual core 1.2 Ghz, snapdragon 400 chipset, adreno 305 GPU, and 1GB of RAM. Clearly the LTE version is much more powerful than the 3G version of galaxy ace 3.

Despite all that you still can play the latest game with the 3G version, the gaming performance is good on 3G version, but much better on the LTE as the LTE has faster CPU and better GPU.

GPU Broadcom video core IV HW
Chipset Broadcom BCM21664
ROM (storage) 4GB (1.95GB user available)

Samsung galaxy ace 3 comes with android jelly bean operating system version 4.2.2 right out of the box. Not the latest android since kitkat (4.4) is already released by google a few months ago, but it’s okay.

The user interface for samsung galaxy ace 3 is the TouchWiz nature UX just like most jelly bean phones from samsung. Inside you’ll get samsung standard apps, like chatON, S Planner, S voice, S translator, memo, etc.

Samsung galaxy ace 3 equipped with 5 mega pixels camera on the back with LED flash, it also has 0.3 mega pixels camera on the front so that you can do video call. The image quality is very decent though, i mean it’s not bad but there’s nothing special about the camera.

You do get HD video recording on this phone, 720p at 30 frame per seconds which the quality is okay, not bad but not high quality either. Overall the camera is good enough for someone who loves taking pictures.

Rear camera 5 mega pixels
LED flash yes
Video record HD 720p at 30 fps (rear camera)
Front camera yes

And here’s the benchmark result for samsung galaxy ace 3, antutu benchmark galaxy ace 3 scores 10,713 points which is higher than samsung galaxy s2. Quadrant standard galaxy ace 3 gets 3221 points. And for graphics benchmark galaxy ace 3 gets 47.1 fps on nenamark 2, quite impressive i must say.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7270
Antutu Benchmark 10,713  points
Quadrant Standard Benchmark 3221 points
Nenamark 2 Benchmark 47.1 fps

Samsung galaxy ace 3 is good choice for those who wants small screen size smartphones that can fit well on the pocket. The performance of galaxy ace 3 is quite good too, and it’s also available on LTE version. If you live in UK (or other country that support LTE), i say go buy the LTE version.

Samsung galaxy ace 3 is better than galaxy fame, and also better than galaxy core in terms of feature, since the ace 3 has smartstay and galaxy core is lack of this feature. But the choice is yours, for me i definitely choose samsung galaxy ace 3 LTE.
